Hexton's Promotion push on track!

Despite skipper Dan Gill's spectacular own goal, Hexton held on for a deserved 3-2 win against 4th placed Crown.
A battling first half hour saw Hexton take the lead through Ashley Norman's 'Beckhamesque' strike from the half way line. Steve White then lept like a salmon to head home for a 2 nil lead. As half time approached Matt Gurney made it 3 with a great strike from the edge of the area.
Then Hexton Gaffer 'Thierry Henry' needed a fag, so substituted himself.
Dan Gill brought Crown back in the match with a strike that his hero Tony Cascarino would have been proud of. Great O.G. Dan!
Crown made sure of a close finish by scoring a second, but the lads held on thanks to some great saves from keeper Ryan 'Grobbelaar' Gowans.
